URL encoding is the process of converting special characters to %XX format to ensure proper transmission in HTTP requests. Common encoded characters include spaces (%20), and non-ASCII characters like Chinese.

encodeURI - Encodes a complete URL, preserving protocol, domain, path separators, etc. Suitable for encoding entire URLs.
